Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) is a federally funded extension of unemployment benefits which began July 6, 2008. The number of weeks of benefits available under the program was expanded with a bill signed into law on November 21, 2008. (see press release)
The first week payable under the first extension is the week ending July 12, 2008. The first week payable under the second extension is the week ending November 29, 2008.

800-822-5246 during the following times:
Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Claims specialists will be available to provide assistance by phone during
extended business hours:
Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
Applications for unemployment benefits are processed free of charge in accordance with state and federal laws, policies and procedures. It may take a few weeks to determine your eligibility, but filing your claim now will begin the process.
